Finnish design legend Oiva Toikka’s iconic collection of Iittala glass birds took flight in 1972. Drawing from nature and Toikka’s passion for blown glass art, each bird is unique down to the minute detail. This gives every bird its own personality making it a truly one of a kind art object. Mouthblown at the Iittala Glass Factory, the collection embodies a rich fusion of glassmaking traditions and Toikka’s artistic partnership with his team of master craftsmen. Birds by Toikka Curlew is a larger bird with a stunning wavy pattern in matte glass that weaves through her deep maroon body.
