This manually bent chair has a seat and a backrest upholstered or covered with cane. This highlights the traditional shapes which give a very fine and elegant impression.

Michael Thonet (1796-1871), born in Germany, was a designer specialising in ‘bentwood'. Thonet and his sons set up a bentwood furniture factory in Bystřice pod Hostýnem in 1861.  In 1876, Chair No. 18 - one of the first models which was produced here and is still a part of our portfolio today.
